Making My Own Valentine's Day Cards

With all the snow days this week i have had some extra time on my hands.  I was able to deep clean the spare room in preparation for a friend of mine to stay with us for a day, i was able to go through all the 2014 bills and such for filing purposes, i was able to try several new recipes, catch up on Glee, enjoy some time watching a new show with the hubs, of course homework, and today i did a fun photo shoot with Adelaide to make my own valentines! Enjoy!

Cheers!

May My Last Spring Semester Begin!

Well, this has been a long time coming and i can't believe it is finally here.  I have only 6.5 short months of school left in my whole life.  It is quite scary to think about to tell ya the truth.  I mean super exciting to think i have accomplished something so difficult (and having a baby during the process as well) but man... after school comes the even more difficult part; finding my place in the community.  A job... one that will allow me to work only part time so that i can still be a mom, but gives me enough hours to make enough money to start paying school debt as well as to have an income, and not to mention enough hours to still ensure i get my license before Matt graduates in 2.5 years...  It is definitely doable, but its not going to be easy... especially if we decide to increase our family by 2 more feet...

I find it so funny... the way that my life has panned out.  In high school i was to write a 5 year plan for my life.  My plan included: waiting for my missionary, getting married and have 3 kids.  After the 5 years i wanted 2 more kids and to be a stay at home mother.  I had no desire to attend any college, definitely was NOT going to serve a mission, and i never wanted to leave the state of Utah unless it was for a vacation.  I am SOOO grateful to Heavenly Father for the way he took my life and decided that He had much better plans for it than i had made.  Starting with an Associate Degree from DSC, a 2 year job as a vocational rehabilitation clerk while i got that degree, 1.5 years of work at a youth treatment facility, 1.5 year mission in the state of Minnesota, a Bachelor of Science degree from SUU, worked as a retail clerk, food server, and graves at a youth treatment center, found Matt, got married, moved to Nebraska, worked as a nanny for 1 year, had a baby girl, and come August 2015 graduate with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from UNL.  I mean wow... i never thought i would amount to much more than a mom of 5, but obviously God had bigger better plans for me!

Along the way people have come and some have stayed but most have gone.  My life has been touched and blessed in so many ways.  I feel that i have learned who i really am through this process and that i have so much more to give this world.  I wish  what i have discovered about my self can be discovered by every women in the world.  Mainly that no matter what you believe you are capable of, there is so much more that you can accomplish with the help from God.  I say that in reference to blessing the lives of others, however i guess i say that to remind myself that no matter what the challenge is (financial worries, additional pregnancies, therapist licensing, etc.) with God all things are possible.

My mom has always told us that all we need to do is just BELIEVE.  All things are possible if we truly believe.  I know that the journey ahead of Matt and I is long from being a breeze. We will have to continue to work very very hard to provide for our little family, and with that hard work comes faith and hope that God will be aware of us and bless us along our way.  We have never once been in a situation where we didn't have what we needed and my hope is that as we continue to give credit where credit is due (to Heavenly Father) things will work out.

Well, after all that here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks.  Little Miss Adelaide saw snow for the first time yesterday!  She would point at it and say WOW! She is developing and growing into the most adorable of little girls on the planet! We are so blessed to have her in our lives!

Cheers!

Christmas Break and All its Adventures!

Lets just say that Christmas break was greatly needed.  The weather wasn't exactly great during parts of the journey; we got stuck in a white out on our way to Utah.  For the first time in my life i was grateful for a semi truck.  We were able to follow his tail lights through the white out and out of the storm.  The next evening were stopped in Wyoming at a Pizza Hut for 3 hours just west of Laramie waiting for I-80 to open up.  Unfortunately it never did so we found an alternative rout that only took 45 extra minutes. The way home was interesting in the fact that we had a 30 mile stretch of road between Laramie and Cheyenne that was covered in black ice.  the following day for the rest of the drive there were no issues with weather and we actually made really good time.

Little Adelaide was so fun to watch this whole Christmas season!  From the awe in her eyes with every Christmas tree and the lights to the excitement being picked up and played with by her aunts and uncles, it was a Christmas to remember!  Addie LOVED being bounced by her Uncles in Midway and loved the one on one time snuggling with Grandpa Chamberlain.

Matt and I were greatly surprised to have gotten a Wii for Christmas and have used it a lot already.  Netflix on our tv has been quite the luxury!  We were also given the Wii Fit which has come in handy with the weight loss and health goals that Matt and I have set for this year.  Addie was spoiled to no end as well!  She was given books, toys, cloths, and a cute push/ride elephant which she will push around the house already!

Several traditions were kept as we went caroling around Midway, and spent Christmas Eve eating soup, listening to the story "The Gift of the Magi", and opening Christmas PJ's!  During our trip Matt and I found time to sneak away while Addie was napping to go ice skating with Matt's siblings!  What a fun afternoon!  We also were blessed to go to the Mount Timpanogas temple and witness Matt's brother Daniel receive his endowments in preparation for his mission.  Daniel was called to serve in Paris France!  He leaves in March this year.  During that temple trip it was wonderful to meet up with a friend i knew while serving my mission!  Nathan Shaskin moved from MN to UT a while ago to be closer to the temple and what a blessing to see him in the celestial room! That was dream come true for me.

Our new brother in law Mike Seagar was given his "new son in law" 22 rifle!  My dad gave a quick gun safety lesson and then took them all out shooting!  We had a lot of time to visit and spend time with each other knowing that it wouldn't be that way for another year.

Once back in NE we had a week of vacation before school started again.  We spend that week binge watching netflix so that it would "hopefully" be out of our systems, but then we started the tv show Arrow... and well... it's not out of our systems.

I don't expect this semester to be too busy for me because i only have 2 classes, however it seems that seeing clients and other assignments for class seem to be a bit more demanding than in previous semesters, perhaps its because i grew lazy over the break.  Matt has a lot more going on this semester than last because of his role in the Opera as well as his recital.  This means that the Clegg's will be coming to visit several times this semester! We LOVE having family come and visit!  Also this year in August i graduate with my masters degree! I can't believe it is only a short 8 months from now!

Well, Enjoy the following pictures!  I hope to continue writing blog posts throughout the year, although it may slow a tad depending on how things go this semester.

Cheers!
