Carving Pumpkins
October 27, 2012
Today was a very fun Saturday! We slept in, ate a yummy egg (Matt had waffles too) breakfast while listening to Christmas music, i know i was a few days early. Then after all our cleaning was done we carved our pumpkins! This even is my most favorite part of Halloween! in fact if i had the money i would buy dozens of pumpkins just so i could carve them all and eat all the seeds! While i was serving my mission i was blessed to have 3 pumpkins to carve ! that is what i spent all P-day doing the Monday before Halloween! It was super fun! The pumpkin on the left is the one i carved and the one on the right is the one Matt carved. Matt doesn't really care for carving pumpkins, i think it's the gutting part he really doesn't like. But he got down and did it with me because he knows it is something i really enjoy a lot. He's such a good guy! Plus i told him after ward we could frost the sugar cookies i had made for my boys. We had fun doing that this afternoon as well!
I have a really good recipe for pumpkin seeds:
2 C Pumpkin Seeds
1 1/2 T oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
i did this last year and it was so yummy! however today i realized i didn't have 2 of the ingredients for this yummy recipe so i did it the old Chamberlain way!
1 C Pumpkin Seeds
1 T oil
1 tsp season salt
*mix together in bowl and spread out on cookie sheet. Bake at 275 degrees for an hour.
They taste just as yummy and remind me of being home. I am beginning to miss it since the holidays are just around the corner. Luckily we will be coming to visit during Christmas and New Years! Happy Halloween!
