The Magic Flute

April 14, 2013

What a glorious weekend! Matt and I were so excited to have his parents and little sister come and stay with us for a night so that they could see Matt perform as Tamino in the Opera "The Magic Flute!" It was a fantastic show! Very symbolic, the music was wonderful! And of course the best part was hearing Matt sing! Even his mother agreed with me! It was so wonderful to have family here to visit, being out in the middle of no where keeps us from getting visitors often so when we can get them we love it. Jonathan Julie and Becca arrived in the early evening on Saturday, stayed for the show that night, and then attended Sacrament meeting with us today, The main reason they stayed was because Matt was being ordained a High Priest. His calling required it and it meant a lot to Matt to keep his Fathers' line of authority.

What a special event that was... witnessing God's power and authority on the earth today! The member of the stake presidency that was there and assisted in the ordination said afterwards that while he was in prayer discussing with the Lord about Matt's ordination that he would take part in today, he said the Spirit testified to him that the Lord has a great future for Matt and a lot of amazing work for him to do. He said that it was a very strong impression and he thanked Matt for the opportunity to have been part of the ordination. Jonathan, Matt's dad gave a beautiful blessing in addition to the ordination, and to be honest it gave me the motivation to step it up myself. I want to be the wife that Matt needs to support him in anything the Lord requires of him.

I can honestly say that being part of the singles ward has truly been a blessing. I know i came kicking and screaming, but i can say with a grateful heart that i love being part of the singles ward here. The people are so fun and so inspiring. I love the callings i have been given, (sunday school teacher and 4th sunday Relief Society teacher). And i look forward to what the Lord has in store for us!

This post wouldn't be complete if i didn't mention to amazing birthday gift that the Clegg's gave to me! I had a tall black, red, and white teapot on my wedding gift registry that i didn't get. Julie knew how much i loved it and went well out of her way to find it (target doesn't carry it anymore) and personally deliver it to me this weekend! They also got Matt 5 Brandon Sanderson books! Matt loves Brandon Sanderson and was so excited when he saw what they were! I haven't seen him that excited in a long time. So thank you Jonathan, Julie and Becca for not only the birthday gifts, but also for a fun filled weekend! Love you guys!
