The Singles Ward Revised

April 3, 2013

I must confess that i am really enjoying my time in the Singles Ward again. When the news hit me like a train i didn't know how to act other than how J.K. Rowling describes a Mandrake would react once pulled out of the comfortable earth. In my words... screaming like a shrieking banshee! As Matt and i have been more involved in the ward it has been a lot easier to adjust to our new ward family. We have loved attending FHE and have been invited more than once to have dinner at the "Sunshine Home" is what they like to call it. Matt and i also taught a FHE on Easter which was a lot of fun and well attended which made me feel good too.

Just a couple days ago i went to lunch with a girl from the ward, Emily Bergen. She just graduated last year from UNL and is currently looking for a job. She and i have become good friends already and i am forever grateful to her for being willing to hang out with a married gal. The picture above is the dessert i had at our lunch! It is Baklava dipped in Amaretto! YUM! and beautiful! Emily introduced me to a fun Greek restaurant called The Parthenon. We have decided that because we both have a great love for unique hole in the wall places to eat we will make it a regular occurring thing. Gosh its nice to have a friend!

I have also enjoyed getting to know all the other girls, some of which are in the MFT program i will be starting in August! Erika Davis being the main one. She will be graduating the end of this semester! So excited for her!

Anyways i thought it would be a good idea to give an update on how things have been progressing in the ward. I have also been called as one of the Sunday School Teachers! That made me so happy to be in a position to teach again! The Lord works in mysterious ways and i am happy that i had the faith to pull through because the blessings are already showing themselves!

The Pioneer Family Ward is still in touch with me too! I get the weekly emails and ALL the many baby shower invites. In fact i am attending another one tonight. I enjoy going because i can still get my married and family girl talk. Honestly i believe that i have the best set up for my situation right now! No more complaining from this end!
