A Very Busy Weekend

February 24, 2013

This weekend was so busy! A lot happened and some big changes too! Friday started off with my all day interview process for the Marriage and Family Therapy program at UNL. It was great to meet so many people with the same interests as me. And 2 of the 3 people on my interview panel are members of the Pioneer ward that we attend. This made it much more comfortable for me to be myself during my interview. They asked more personal questions and loved how i used examples from my life to explain my answers. I hope that means i will be accepted! Its a 2 year program that goes through the summer semesters as well. It will be a difficult and time consuming program, but so worth it.

Saturday was another busy day. We spent 4 hours getting our taxes done at UNL for free and got a fabulous tax return! We also had an interview with the Stake President that afternoon. Matt got a new assignment which i will talk about at a different time. Then that evening i went to Dino's East Side Grill for a dinner party for Evan Littrell. He is leaving next Sunday for Iraq. He is in the Air Force and will be serving there for 6 months. I mainly went to help watch their kids and take them home and get them to bed so their parents could stay and visit with their adult friends and family. I was there till well after 11 pm and i was glad to do it! I just love their three little boys like they were my own.

So then today, Sunday afternoon, I attended the matinee viewing of Candide put on at UNL. Matt played 12 different characters during the show and the above picture is him in his sailors costume! Although it was a very difficult and time consuming play to prepare for Matt enjoyed the production and learned a great deal. As for me as a spectator, i thought the show was well done! This production of Candide was the first time with a new script and it went over well in my eyes. The jokes and comical characters were funny and i was greatly impressed with the costuming and the stage sets! Some of the best i have seen thus far here.

So as this weekend comes to a close, we are happy to know that our business will simmer back down to what we call our normal routine. Busy periods of time are great every once in a while but it is nice to get back to nice and easy... for as long as we can keep it this way!
