This trip was a while back, but it was such a great experience i wanted to share it with you! Plus I needed to show off my new SHORT hair cut! As you all know i served my mission in Minnesota and spent the majority of my time in Minneapolis... this beautiful city behind us. The bridge we are standing on is called the "Stone Arch Bridge" and it is the one that my favorite companion Cassie King and I would go running on every morning for exercise.
We stayed at a members house while we were there. Laura Dornbush was pretty much the "Sister Missionary Mom" while i was serving. She is such a wonderful lady and helped the work along so much. I was grateful to have her for sure!
I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it was to have my husband there with me on my missionary stomping grounds! It was so much fun introducing him to several of my converts and other friends that i made while serving there.
I must confess... the main reason we planned this trip was to visit a really good member friend Sarah Cottle. She was my life saving hair dresser as a missionary. She would do my hair for pretty much free and give us professional product and such. I trust her judgment with my life, thus she is the only one i would trust to cut my hair. I must say that i am very satisfied with my new look! it is surly a change, and i am getting use to it... Matt loves it so i think it must be good! So yes my confession, it is strange to travel 7 hours for a hair cut and color; however we made it a weekend of memories and touring the greatest city in the Midwest!
Here is a rundown of all our adventures:
Toured the Sculpture Gardens
Ate at the Highland Grill
Got a Hair cut
Went to the Dinkytown Singles ward
Met several of my converts and member friends
Toured the St. Paul Cathedral
It was a very fun weekend, and we hope to go again soon and visit more of the sights, especially the State Fair and the Science Museum! Those two are a must experience! Farewell for now and more to come soon!
