BOO

October 31, 2013

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This year for Halloween we had fun carving pumpkins! having Summer here with us has been a blast too. I was silly and didn't get any pictures of the food i made so i'll have to give a description and you can use your imagination! The pumpkins shown above are sectioned by the carver. We had a lot of fun doing this together and enjoying them for several days before Halloween night. On Halloween night Summer went dressed as a lovely pink fairy to a dance that a girl in the ward put on, and I stayed home and watch Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on ABC and cooking a fun dinner for when Matt got home from rehearsal. I was prepared with Candy and the porch light on and the pumpkins lit, but no trick or treaters this year... i guess we will try again next year.

Dinner was fun this year! I bought some yummy all real beef franks and wrapped them in strips of dough. They looked like little mummies with their beady pepper corn eyes staring out through the dough wrappings. We had some cold apple cider to drink and for dessert i made delicious candy corn rice crispy treats! That recipe is listed here:

We watched a scary episode of Castle and then of course Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! It was a great low key evening. We got to wear our fun halloween themed shirts all day and everyone loved the pun of me wearing the Peek A Boo one. Matt's shirt "I got a rock" was a classic! I especially love it because he played the role of Charlie Brown in a play at SUU the year before we met. He is such a Charlie Brown in real life and i just love him for it!

Now for the rest of the fall season to begin! The pumpkin seeds are lingering around the house still as well as the candy, and come the first of November the Christmas Music will make its appearance till the end of the year! Welcome Home Christmas Music!
